This is a reminder for me first, and then you.
I came across this & felt I should share it. The image speaks of just "people" hurting you - But really, the closest people to your heart have the greatest power to hurt you. The words we speak are our most powerful ally (or weapon, if used as such). I can say from experience that the self control we need to imbibe within ourselves right when someone is saying hurtful things to you is single-handedly one of the most difficult things to accomplish.
It is awfully challenging to master one's own temper, which is why it's better to walk away and not engage. However, I don't mean to say that we shouldn't be assertive about the
point we are trying to put across if you're able to control yourself - it's vital to choose your words
carefully. After some time has passed and the atmosphere is better, then you can put your point forward in a calm manner. I know you might be thinking its really simple to say and hear this - but truly, it requires
consistent diligent training on our part.
Something that will help you - and in my experience, what tends to be underestimated or neglected - is making Dua. Ask Allah to help you with sincerity and combine that with your efforts in maintaining patience and you
will notice a change inshaAllah
إن شاء الله
True strength comes from our endurance.
